Ear biometrics

Human identification that uses ear biometrics is based on
individual shape and morphometric characteristics
of human ear.

Method
There are 3 biometric methods of the ear:
- Ear morphometrics - geometry of the ear (morphometric relationships, measurements, lines, points, etc.) in 2D or 3D form
- Ear print - very similar to fingerprint method, it is not suitable for commercial usage
- Thermogram of the ear - it is based on distribution of body temperature on the ear
Method based on ear morphometrics is suitable for commercial use, that is why it is "user friendly". Ear is scanned by special scanning mechanism. Pattern of the ear (morphometric relationships, lines, measurements, points etc.) are evaluated and compared with relevant database.

Usage
- Time-register/Attendance systems
- Access control systems
- Forensic Identification method
- suitable for databases with low or with middle-sized number of users
Advantages
- no physical contact with scanning mechanism
We offer:
Morphometric/photocomparative software - high variable semi-automatic and morphometric software for all different kinds of use, primarily developed as photocomparative system for en-face, profile and ear for forensic analyses.
Other biometric methods
Other types of human identification using biometric identification methodology are under the development:
- Vascular pattern recognition - palm, face, etc.
- Gait recognition
- Odour recognition
- Handwriting recognition
- Dynamics of smile
- Mouse dynamics
- Nail bed recognition
- Keystroke dynamics
